Indonesian Chess Contingent Welcomed at Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia
Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia has warmly welcomed the Indonesian chess contingent as the players prepare to compete in the 46th FIDE Chess Olympiad Samarkand 2026. Arriving at the hotel reception with their luggage and wearing accreditation badges, they were received in an atmosphere that felt like home. Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia is a fitting place for the athletes to prepare ahead of one of the world’s most prestigious team chess championships, held this year in the historic Silk Road city of Samarkand.
Indonesia will field two teams, in the Open and Women categories. The Open team consists of GM Susanto Megaranto, IM Arif Abdul Hafiz, IM Gilbert Elroy Tarigan, IM Satria Duta Cahaya, and IM Nayaka Budhidharma. The Women team is strengthened by WIM Diajeng Theresa Singgih, WIM Laysa Latifah, WIM Chelsie Monica Sihite, WIM Shafira Devi Herfesa, and WIM Ummi Fisabilillah.
Staying at Hotel Kampoeng Indonesia — one of the representations of Indonesian hospitality within the Imam Al Bukhari Memorial Complex — gives the national contingent a familiar cultural atmosphere while far from home. With a comfortable setting to rest and prepare between matches, the players can focus on every round of the Olympiad. Guests and supporters in Samarkand can follow Indonesia’s campaign knowing that the athletes are staying in a place that carries Indonesian character and identity in Samarkand.
